About
I am Neville Sherriff, and I’ve been involved in marketing – specifically marketing communications – for most of my working life. In the early 80s I became Toyota South Africa’s first Dealer Advertising Consultant – a company which at that time was considered by many to be the top marketing group in the country and one of the most proficient in the world. I then established Toyota’s Dealer Marketing Department with responsibility for retail advertising, sales incentives, retail publicity & promotions for 320 dealerships around the country. The department also structured and implemented corporate marketing programmes and was responsible for corporate video productions and direct marketing activities.
During that time wrote and published two novels (Pan MacMillan) and in October 1990 left Toyota and moved to Hermanus in the Western Cape – my hometown and a place considered by experts to be the best land based whale watching spot in the world. Along with my wife, Alet, I began a small print and business communication company which serves a broad variety of small to medium size business in the area.
In 1995 I published a book aimed at the local market, called Marketing Your Small Business (Jonathan Ball Publishers). In 2000, at the invitation of the Institute for International Research, I held a workshop in Dubai on the subject of incentive communication strategy.
My marketing site provides practical tips and advice on marketing for the small to medium business.
